Manjadikuru (Lucky Red Seeds) is itself a beautiful metaphor for this movie that highlights the importance of unity and harmony in any family. An old man's death brings his estranged family members under one roof after a long time to perform his funeral rites and rituals. Siblings, cousins, daughters and sons meet each other not just for the funeral but also to know what's written in the deceased person's will. All of them wanted to inherit the lion's share of the property. Meanwhile, the younger generation of the family, especially the little ones form a wonderful bond among themselves along with a young Tamil girl who has worked for that family for many years. In order to make them understand the necessity of being together and staying united, the wife of the deceased old man, decides that the will may be read out only after 15 days. During this period of time, the real situation of those people's lives, their personalities and personal struggles start to come out in the light. The movie beautifully and emotionally unfolds a climax that'll tell you what's in the will and the outcome of the same.
குடும்ப ஒற்றுமை என்பது எந்த அளவு சாத்தியம் என்பதை யதார்த்தமான முறையில் எடுத்து சொல்லும் படம் இது. ஒரு வயதானவர் மூப்பின் காரணமாக இறந்து விடுகிறார்.இறந்தவரின் இறுதி சடங்குகளை நிறைவேற்ற உலகின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் வசித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் அவருடைய பிள்ளைகளும் பேரப்பிள்ளைகளும் குடும்பத்துடன் கேரளாவிற்கு வருகிறார்கள். அவர்களின் வருகைக்கு மற்றுமொரு மிக முக்கிய காரணம் இறந்தவர் எழுவைத்துள்ள உயிலில் என்ன இருப்பது என்பதை அறிந்து கொண்டு தங்களுக்கு சேர வேண்டியதை எடுத்து செல்வதற்கே. இந்த படத்தில் இருக்கும் பெரியவர்களின் கதாபாத்திரத்தை விட பார்ப்பவர்கள் மனதில் நிலைத்து நிற்பது இறந்தவருடைய பேரப்பிள்ளைகள் மற்றும் அவர் வீட்டில் பல வருடங்களாக வேலை செய்து வரும் ஒரு இளம் தமிழ் பெண்ணின் கதாபாத்திரமும் ஆகும். பல வருடங்கள் கழிந்து ஒரு துக்க நிகழ்வின் மூலமாக ஒன்றிணையும் தன் பிள்ளைகள் இப்போதாவது ஒற்றுமையாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்பது இறந்தவரின் மனைவியின் எண்ணம். அதனால் சொத்து பிரிவினை பற்றிய உயிலை உடனே படிக்காமல் 15 நாட்கள் கழிந்த பிறகே படிக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறிவிடுகிறார். இந்த 15 நாட்கள் என்னென்ன நிகழ்வுகள் நடக்கின்றன, யார் யார் எப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் , உண்மையில் அவர்களுடைய வாழ்க்கை எத்தகையது, உயிலில் என்னதான் இருக்கிறது என்பதை ஒரு அழகான உணர்வுமிக்க கதையாக சொல்லுகிறது இந்த படம்.
