This Is the End (2013)

This is not like the regular survival films that we have seen. A typical Seth Rogan movie brimming with Hollywood inside jokes, satire, sarcasm and rib-tickling one-liners. All actors in this movie play fictional versions of themselves. There is a star-studded party at James Franco's house and the entire cast attends it. Suddenly with a huge sound, an earthquake hits and the ground develops wide cracks sucking people into a pool of lava. It all starts to look like an inferno. These celebrities are all trapped in Franco's house and devise plans to survive and escape this apocalypse. In the meantime, they also notice that from time to time there comes a beam of bright light from the sky, the passage to heaven that sucks people into it. Only those who have done good karma get this opportunity while the others are left to die on earth which is now under the control of monstrous demons. With little time left to live, these men discover the hypocritical life they've been living faking friendships, living under false pretence etc. All this is shown in the most hilarious way one can imagine and the climax closes by showing who went to heaven as opposed to those who died on earth. The final touch by Back Street Boys is a perfect finishing.
Seth Roganனின் திரைப்படங்களில் நகைச்சுவைக்கு பஞ்சம் இருக்காது. நக்கல்,நையாண்டி தாக்குதல்,கிண்டல் என வரிக்கு வரி சிரிப்புமூட்டும் வசனங்களும் அதற்கேற்ற கதாபாத்திரங்களும் உண்டு. இந்த திரைப்படமும் அதே போலதான்.இதில் சுவாரசியமான விஷயம் என்னவென்றால் நடிகர்கள் அனைவரும் திரைப்படத்திலும் அவர்களாகவே தோன்றுகின்றனர். James Franco வீட்டில் நடக்கும் ஒரு கேளிக்கை விருந்திற்கு அனைத்து நடிகர்களும் செல்லுகின்றனர் . அப்போது திடீரென்று ஒரு பெரிய சத்தத்துடன் பூகம்பம் ஏற்படுகிறது , பூமியில் பிளவுகள் ஏற்பட்டு எரிப்பிழம்புகள் கொப்பளிக்கின்றன, சாத்தான்கள் பூமியில் நடமாட ஆரம்பித்து விடுகின்றன, உலகம் அழியும் தருவாய்க்கு சென்று கொண்டிருக்கின்றது, எல்லோரும் உயிரை காப்பாற்றி கொள்ள அங்கும் இங்கும் ஓடி கொண்டிருக்க, இந்த நடிகர் பட்டாளம் மட்டும் Franco வீட்டிலேயே தங்கி விடுகின்றனர். வெளியே நண்பர்களாக காட்டிக்கொண்டாலும் , அவர்களுக்குள் சிலருக்கு வெறுப்பும் , பொறாமையும் , மனக்கசப்பும் இருப்பது இந்த சமயத்தில் வெளிப்படுகிறது. சில சமயங்களில் வானத்தை பிளந்து கொண்டு ஒரு ஒளி வருகிறது ,அதுதான் சொர்கத்திற்கு செல்லும் வழி. யார் யார் நல்ல எண்ணத்துடன் பிறருக்கு உதவி செய்து , தன்னலம் இன்றி வாழ்ந்தார்களா அவர்களுக்கு மட்டும் அது தோன்றும். அங்கே உள்ளவர்களில் எத்தனை பேர் சொர்கத்திற்கு சென்றார்கள் , எத்தனை பேர் பூமியிலேயே இறந்தார்கள் , எத்தனை பேர் சாத்தான் கையில் அகப்பட்டு அல்லோலப்பட்டார்கள் என்பதை வயிறு வலிக்க சிரிக்க வைக்கும் வகையில் படம் கூறுகிறது. படத்தின் இறுதியில் "Back Street Boys"ன் சிறப்பு தோற்றம் அசத்தல்.
