FAMILIAL BONDS

"Family"- This word, This concept or This system has always been an overrated concept for me personally. End of the day, I believe that an individual's comfort and support lie within himself/herself and nobody can necessarily fill that void or can forever offer an unconditional company that would last longer. But this book has gradually disintegrated that thought of mine and has given a huge deal of thought to process. The way Mr Hosseini weaved this beautiful web of relationships among his characters in "And the Mountains Echoed" is absolutely beautiful and powerful. It's an amalgamation of strength and subtlety, I should say.

           Human relationships are complex and also one of the interesting aspects of this societal set-up. The nature of association we all have with each other, with the environment around us and with our inner selves is beguiling and makes us who we are. This wonderful piece of work is packed with delightful experiences and emotional let alone enchanting stories shared by the characters in it. Only Mr Hosseini can deftly take his readers to different places in the world through such simple and inventive storytelling.

MODIGLIANI (2004) Director: Mick Davis  Starring : Andy García, Elsa Zylberstein, Omid Djalili Biopic of famous Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani. The movie is set in Paris in 1919 and takes you on an artistic journey showcasing the life and works of Modigliani. During that era, Modigliani's biggest rival was another world-famous artist, Pablo Picasso. Their competition, self-centric approach and ego project them as mighty contenders and arch-rivals in the field of art. This eventually leads them to face each other in a famous competition that the whole world was waiting for Modigliani Vs Picasso. The works of Modigliani stood the test of time and were celebrated because of the emotions they radiated. To this day, this is being examined. All of Modigliani's works were the manifestation of his own emotions and experiences. Cujo (1993) Director: Lewis Teague Starring: Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh-Kelly, Danny Pintauro This movie is based on one of the many critically acclaimed Stephen King novels by the same name. Cujo is a horror show where you find a friendly St Bernard who gets infected by the Rabies Virus and starts exhibiting aggression and restlessness. The abnormal behaviour worsens as the virus infection intensifies and Cujo becomes a threat to people around.
