MOVIE REVIEW- STATE OF PLAY

Starring: Rachel McAdams, Russell Crowe, Helen Mirren, Ben Affleck, Robin Wright. 

This was initially aired as a 6-part TV series in Britain and then was later made into a Movie. This movie is a political thriller with a story that takes place in Washington DC revolving around the life of a Congressman called Stephen. The movie begins with the death of Sonia Baker, a young researcher in the White House who was working under Stephen. Stephen who was already married was into an extra-marital affair with Sonika and she was pregnant with his child as well. The death of Sonia shatters Stephen. Though the media reported the incident as Suicide, Stephen believes that it was a murder. As Stephen was working against a dangerous corporate organization called Point Corp, he suspected their involvement in Sonia's death. Stephen approaches his long-time friend and a renowned Journalist, Cal from the Press and requests him to investigate the issue for him. Cal agrees to his request and risks everything he has to find out the truth. What awaits Cal, in the end, is a shocking, unexpected truth that concludes the movie with a brilliant twist.

 ஆறு பாகங்களாக இங்கிலாந்தில் வெளியான "Stae of Play" என்ற ஒரு தொலைக்காட்சி தொடர் திரைப்படமாக மாற்றப்பட்டது. அரசியல் கதைக்களத்தை கொண்ட திரைப்படம் . வாஷிங்டனில் அமெரிக்க அரசாங்கத்தில் அங்கம் வகிக்கும் உறுப்பினர் ,ஸ்டீபன். திருமணமான இவருக்கு, தனது அலுவலகத்தில் பணிபுரியும் சோனியா என்ற இளம்பெண்ணுடன் நெருக்கம் ஏற்படுகிறது. யாருக்கும் தெரியாமல் இவர்களின் உறவு தொடர்கிறது. திடீரென்று ஒரு நாள் சோனியா இறந்துவிடுகிறார். ஊடங்கங்களில் அது தற்கொலை என்று எழுதப்பட்டாலும் , ஸ்டீபனுக்கு அதில் உடன்பாடில்லை. அது கொலையாக இருக்கக்கூடும் என்ற சந்தேகம் ஸ்டீபன் மனதில் உதிக்கிறது. "Point Corp" என்ற பலம் பொருந்திய ஆயுதம் உற்பத்தி செய்யும் தனியார் நிறுவனத்தை எதிர்த்து நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஸ்டீபன் நீண்ட நாட்களாக போராடுகிறார் . அமெரிக்காவின் பாதுகாப்புத்துறை தனியார்மயமாகிவிடக்கூடாது என்பதற்கான சட்டப்போராட்டம் இது. சோனியாவின் மரணத்தில் "Point Corp" க்கு பங்கு இருக்குமோ என்ற ஐயம் எழுகிறது ஸ்டீபனுக்கு. மனமுடைந்த நிலையில் , ஸ்டீபன் தனது நண்பரும் , பத்திரிகையாளருமான கேல் என்பவரின் உதவியை நாடுகிறார். நண்பனுக்காக கேலும் , பல முயற்சிகளை எடுத்து, பல ஆபத்துகளையும் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் , இந்த கொலையின் பின்னணியில் யார் உள்ளனர் என்பதை கண்டுபிடிக்க முயற்சிக்கிறார். ஆனால் படத்தின் இறுதியில் கேல் நினைத்துகூட பார்த்திடாத ஒரு உண்மை வெளிவருகிறது. பல திருப்புமுனைகளை கொண்ட விறுவிறுப்பான திரைப்படமாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது "State Of Play"

The movie is set in Paris in 1919 and takes you on an artistic journey showcasing the life and works of Modigliani. During that era, Modigliani's biggest rival was another world-famous artist, Pablo Picasso. Their competition, self-centric approach and ego project them as mighty contenders and arch-rivals in the field of art. This eventually leads them to face each other in a famous competition that the whole world was waiting for Modigliani Vs Picasso. The works of Modigliani stood the test of time and were celebrated because of the emotions they radiated. To this day, this is being examined. All of Modigliani's works were the manifestation of his own emotions and experiences.
